Hi! And welcome to the first blog post from Flourish Bakery! I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Katie Ohren, the owner and operator of Flourish Bakery. This business is a passion project of mine. Our mission is to provide quality baked goods to all people, regardless of dietary lifestyles. This means that we have all of the classic options that you love as well as an ample menu of vegan and gluten free treats. Becoming vegan and gluten free has become trendy, so a lot of places have a few options for these populations, but here at Flourish we want you to get the full experience of a bakery. That is right, we are still a bakery and we still make delicious baked goods. We aren’t trying to be a health brand or an intimidating place, we want to be your favorite neighborhood bakery. A place that reminds you of the homemade treats you enjoyed growing up. Instead of focusing on outrageous colors and pushing boundaries of what baked goods are, we focus on making our already tasty recipes even better for every customer.
As for me, I am Katie. I have been baking for most of my life, but in the past few years I have explored the world of vegan baking. In the beginning it was scary for me try and make substitutions for the animal products in my favorite recipes, but now my vegan baked goods have become some of my favorite recipes. My personal goal is to make every customer feel comfortable in our store and on our website.
